VietNamNet Bridge – More than 200 booths are showcasing a wide variety of flowers and speciality foods at the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park Spring Flower Fair in HCM City that opened on Wednesday.

The fair with a flower gate featuring a family of dogs – marking the Year of the Dog — seeks to entertain workers at the industrial park and local residents in Nha Be District during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

Street art shows and don ca tai tu (southern folk music) will be performed throughout the fair.

A range of high-quality products will be on sale to meet the Tet shopping needs.

Nha Be District residents can enjoy the fair and entertainment programmes instead of having to travel to the city downtown for the Spring Fair and Flower Street, Bui Hoa An, deputy chairman of the Nha Be People’s Committee, said.

The fair would be organised annually hereafter, he promised.

To run until February 15, the event is expected to attract 300,000 visitors.

The Nha Be People’s Committee and the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park will organise a fireworks show on February 16 to mark the Lunar New Year.

The industrial park will give gifts to 500 workers not returning home for Tet.
