VietNamNet Bridge – The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued incentives on salary, accommodations, bonus, and working conditions for overseas Vietnamese experts, which took effect on November 21.

Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese experts working at the HCM City Hi-Tech Park, the High-tech Agricultural Park, the Academy of Calculation Science - Technology and the Biotechnology Center will enjoy many preferential policies.

Regarding salaries, allowances and remuneration, they will enjoy special salary and travel allowance mechanisms; be paid under an agreement between them and the four units above. The income or allowance will be re-discussed when the two sign a labor contract for the next period, but the total amount must not exceed VND150 million ($7,000) per month.

The agency sponsoring sci-tech research projects and the experts chairing the projects are entitled to profit sharing on the products that are the results of the research project under the provisions of the Law on Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Law.

Overseas Vietnamese experts are creating favorable conditions for travel, getting entry and exit visas, residence registration for themselves and their family members. Experts are supplied with public houses or helped to buy houses. Their spouses are given assistance to find jobs, and their children will be helped to study in Vietnam.

Experts are also given funds to attend sci-tech conferences and workshops at home and abroad under current regulations.

In terms of working conditions and environment, experts will be provided with working rooms, laboratories and modern equipment necessary for their job.

Experts who hold high positions have the right to choose and train their staff.
