The city also announced a public transportation rate of VND 341,910 per kilometer for Metro Line 1. This cost includes labor and maintenance for urban railway infrastructure but excludes property insurance (fire and explosion) and electricity for equipment at depots, stations, and the operations center.

Metro Line 1 spans 20 kilometers with 11 elevated stations and 3 underground stations. The project has a total investment of VND 43.7 trillion and is slated for commercial operation by the end of this year.

For the first 30 days of operation, HCMC will fully subsidize ticket prices to encourage residents to try Metro Line 1. The city has allocated VND 15.7 billion for free rides and VND 17.3 billion to support 17 bus routes connecting to the metro during this period.

Additionally, HCMC plans to allocate VND 32.6 billion annually to fully subsidize ticket costs for certain policy beneficiaries.
