VietNamNet Bridge – In response to the World Environment Day (June 5), on May 29, Ho Chi Minh City will release more than 200,000 carps and perches to Nhieu Loc and Tau Hu canals.

The city’s Vice Chairman -- Hua Ngoc Thuan, has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement this program in order to develop aquatic resources and in Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe and Tau Hu - Ben Nghe canals, which were revived recently.
It is scheduled that on the morning of May 29, 300 people in District 1, District 4 and Phu Nhuan District will participate in releasing 225,000 carps and perches to Tau Hu and Nhieu Loc canals.
The projects to improve the environment of Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe and Tau Hu - Ben Nghe canals have helped better water quality in the canals. Tests show that the water is good enough for the development of fish.
According to the city People's Committee, this program also aims to call for the people to participate in protecting, conserving, restoring, and developing aquatic resources, environment and urban landscapes.
