The authorities in HCM City are planning to upgrade Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street with a new round fountain.
Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street to have a new round fountain
This is part of the project to upgrade Le Loi Street and nearby streets. According to the Department of Planning and Architecture, the project will be carried out in two phases.
In the first phase, they will complete the landscape in front and behind the Municipal Theatre of HCM City and the Le Loi-Nguyen Hue intersection. The view from the Uncle Ho Statue to the Saigon River must be clear.
The round fountain will be built at the Le Loi-Nguyen Hue intersection to ensure the harmony of the cityscape and to improve the area's environment. The fountain will have a lotus sculpture in the middle but low enough so that the view from Uncle Ho Statue to Saigon River will not be blocked.
In the second phase, the project will be completed and the city will have measures to connect public transport system and the commercial area. They will add more utilities for travellers to make it more convenient to attend outdoor activities.
It is hoped that the upgrades will help attract more tourists to the city. The new fountain is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter.
