Accordingly, high-range firework show will be held in the city at midnight of New Year's Eve, and to ring in the New Year.
Meanwhile the New Year Countdown Lights 2018 offering music party, dance performance, street artist show and free style dance battle will be held in Nguyen Hue walking street. An amazing visual 3D facial projection mapping performance will be presented at the headquarter of the People’s Committee.
In addition, a series of cultural activities and art performances will be organized at Gia Dinh Park, Youth’s Cultural House, universities, colleges, schools, dormitories, processing and industrial zones, district cultural centers throughout the City on December 31, 2017-January 1, 2018.
The ‘Street Lighting’ program featuring thousands of colorful lights in main streets in the heart of city, such as Truong Son, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Ham Nghi, Dong Khoi, Le Duan, Pham Ngoc Thach, Cong Truong Quoc Te, Ton Duc Thang, Vo Van Kiet, Ben Van Don, Nguyen Hue, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Hai Ba Trung, Pasteur and Pham Ngu Lao will take place from December 20, 2017-January 20, 2018.

The most spectacular New Year celebration directed by Michael Choi will feature top-notch Vietnamese and international singers and DJs, bringing traditional and contemporary music to audiences.
The show will also present outstanding achivements of Ho Chi Minh City through folk art and music perfromances.
The event is directed by by Tuan Le, a popular Vietnamese German director, who has been known for A O Show, Teh Dar Show and My Village. Besides, popular music producer Michael Choi, who has worked with world-famous stars, is the music director.
The Countdown Party has been the most popular annual countdown and music party which is equipped with world-class lighting, amazing sound systems and mind-blowing visual effects, since 2008.
