According to a report by the transport departments of HCM City and Ba Ria – Vung Tau to their people’s committees, buses will operate on the 105km route between midnight and 11.30pm every day of the week.
From the airport, the buses will go through Truong Son Street, Tran Quoc Hoan Street, Hoang Van Thu Street, Nguyen Van Troi, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Vo Van Kiet, Mai Chi Tho, the Expressway, National Highway No 51, Binh Gỉa, Thong Nhat, Le Hong Phong, and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia to reach the Vung Tau Bus Terminal.
On the return route, in HCM City, they will go through Dien Bien Phu Street, Xo Viet Nghe Tinh, Bach Dang, Phan Dang Luu, Hoang Van Thi, Phan Dinh Giot, Truong Son, and the flyover near the airport.
Authorities said the new service is meant to improve the quality of public transportation in HCM City.
AVI Investment Joint Stock Company, the operator of the service, said 19-seat DCar limousines with wifi would be used and passengers would be provided with flight arrival and departure information.
Le Trung Tinh, chairman of the HCM City Inter-provincial and Tourism Passenger Transport Association, said the new service would help meet the rising demand for transport to the airport and at the same time end the illegal airport bus services.
“Together with social development, the transport sector must renovate itself to meet people’s rising travel needs,” said Tinh.
The Ministry of Transport and the city Department of Transport plan to review the new service in its early stages to make improvements wherever needed.
