VietNamNet Bridge - From a video clip that was posted on Youtube on September 25, featuring a robbery at the foot of Nguyen Huu Canh flyover, leading up to the Saigon Bridge, a robber has been arrested.

On November 5, HCM City police arrested Diep Tan Dung, 19, from District 6, HCM City, one of the two robbers in the above video clip.
 
The police are hunting the remaining robber, Le Minh Pha, 19, from Thu Duc District, HCM City.

Earlier, a 40-second video clips posted on Youtube on September 25 with the title "Two youngsters snatch and run in daylight" made viewers worry about reckless, brazen robbers in HCM City.

The incident occurred at 3.25pm of the same day. At that time, two women were driving motorcycles in parallel on the road. Both of them carried bags with them.

From behind, two young men on a motorcycle, without helmets, approached the two women. The man sitting behind reached forward to snatch the bag of a girl. After the successful robbery, they sped up to run away.

The victim fell to the road. Her helmet was also thrown out. Fortunately, the car behind, with the clip shooter inside, promptly stopped, avoiding an accident.

The clip has caused a wave of indignation against the reckless act of the two robbers. Many people wrote on online forums that their friends and relatives had experienced painful accidents when their bags were snatched by robbers on the street.

Dung declared that after the robbery, he and Pha fled to Gia Lai province. After spending all money, the two robbers returned to HCM City and they had lost contact since then.

According to investigators, in late October, scouts detected that Pha met with his relatives at the area between HCM City and Binh Duong. Policemen surrounded the site but Pha escaped, leaving the motorcycle that was used in the robbery in the clip.
 
Dung was arrested on November 5 when he appeared at his wife’s house in Tan Phu ward, District 9 to take money.
 
Dung is a “popular” gangster in Di An Town, Binh Duong province. He has a previous conviction for “theft of property" and a previous offence for "disturbing public order."
