VietNamNet Bridge – HCM City police have discovered a prostitution ring for foreign visitors which is based in the center of District 1. On June 17, the police summoned 53 people involved in this ring for investigation and nine of them were taken into custody.

Earlier, on June 15, the police stormed into a hotel in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. They caught in the act several prostitutes with their clients - foreign men who are working and living in HCM City.

After that, the police conducted a search of four luxurious bars and restaurants on Hai Ba Trung Road, District 1. Up to 53 people were summoned and nine were arrested for prostitution intermediary.

According to VietNamNet’s sources, the "headquarters" of this ring is an entertainment center located on Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1, which only serves foreigners.

Prostitutes are girls of 18-26 years old from the Mekong Delta province who can speak English. They were grouped at the four above pubs and restaurants and were carried by car from this place to hotels in the city’s center to serve foreign men.

The price is $100, but prostitutes could hold only $50.

The police are further investigating the case.
