VietNamNet Bridge – HCM City police said yesterday that they have seized 7.1kg of drugs including 20,000 ecstasy pills and nearly 2kg of methamphetamines in busting a drug trafficking ring.

The drugs were being transported from the northern port city of Hai Phong City to HCM City, they said.

Pham Van Hoang, a native of Thai Binh Province, was arrested last week by police in Binh Thanh District. He informed them that he had taken the drugs from a woman in Hai Phong and had been asked to deliver it to her in HCM City.

The woman was arrested the same day at Tan Son Nhat international airport, police said, adding they were carrying out further investigations.
