The HCM City Police division for investigation into social order crimes said they had uncovered a prostitution ring, reportedly involving several models and actresses working in HCM City. It was noteworthy that some of the freelance models allegedly involved in this ring were those who were recently reported as missing by some media outlets.

The incident unfolded when police suddenly raided three hotels in HCM City last Tuesday, one in the downtown area and the other two in Binh Chanh District, where they reportedly found several couples in the act of having sex that showed signs of prostitution.

After their alleged confession, police arrested Le Bao Loc, 42, a resident of District 5 in HCM City, to investigate the offence of "procuring/pandering" prostitutes.

Loc, who worked a trainer of models and actresses, allegedly said he acted as a pimp for models and actresses, sending them to rich men for US$1,000 per session, from which he took a share of 20 per cent.

Police have also remanded in custody some models, including Nguyen Thi Hai Y, 25; Le Thi Bao T, 26; Le Thi Dieu H, 23; and Dang Thi Anh D, 24.

Police suspect they also acted as brokers in this prostitution ring, and are expanding the investigation.
