VietNamNet Bridge – To marry a Vietnamese woman, a Chinese man had to pay only VND60 million ($3,000).
The police have discovered a woman trafficking ring from Vietnam to China. They have arrested four people involved in this ring, including Truong Bac Siu (born 1966, in Dong Nai province), Pham Thi My Le (1970), Ho Ngoc Xuan and Nguyen Hong Lan (both born 1975, from Tay Ninh province).

The two main objects in this ring are defined as Truong Bac
Siu (left) and Pham Thi My Le.
According to investigators, Siu was a taxis driver in HCM City. In early 2011, Siu met a Chinese man who suggested doing business together.
Siu was responsible to selecting Vietnamese girls and sent them to China to marry Chinese men. The Chinese side paid Siu VND60 million for each selected girl. This is the entire cost for the selection process, wedding and traveling cost.
Siu hired Pham Thi My Le to seek girls, paying her VND3 million ($150) for a girl. Le again hired two men, Lan and Xuan, paying him VND1.5 million ($70) for a girl.
These people confessed that from early 2011 to now, they sold nine girls, mostly Tay Ninh natives, to China.
In early October, the Chinese "partner" ordered three girls. Siu, Le, Xuan and Lan went to Tay Ninh to choose girls. After that, three Chinese men went to Tay Ninh to see the girls and they selected three girls. In the afternoon October 12, Siu and Le saw the 3 girls and 3 Chinese men out at Tan Son Nhat airport, Ho Chi Minh City, and they were arrested there.
After that, the police arrested Xuan and Lan in Tay Ninh. Searching these people’s homes, the police seized several certificates of single status of women living in Tay Ninh Province, who are waiting to get married Chinese men.
