According to the official, Le Truong Hai Hieu, the district uses three camera systems to supervise traffic, the operation of traffic policemen and social order.

The first camera system is installed along all roads in the district to monitor traffic. The system is called “smart” because the cameras can automatically detect, track and take photos of the license plate numbers and the faces of the traffic rule violators, and send the pictures to the information processing center of the local traffic police bureau.

The second camera system is installed on patrol cars and vehicles of the traffic police forces. The cameras will record images of traffic rule violators on the streets and monitor the operation of traffic police officers in order to prevent corruption.

The third camera system is installed along alleys where the security situation is poor.

The camera system has been installed in the wards of Tan Dinh, Ben Thanh, and Pham Ngu Lao, and has been warmly supported by local people.

District 1 is the first area in HCM City to carry out this project. The model will be applied in other districts in the near future.
