The city's festivities for the 79th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will feature two separate fireworks shows. The primary display will be a high-altitude spectacle near the Saigon River Tunnel entrance at Thu Thiem Ward in Thu Duc City. This will include 1,500 high-altitude fireworks, complemented by 30 low-altitude arrays and 10 pyrotechnic sets, promising a breathtaking visual experience.

The secondary event will take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11, where attendees can enjoy a low-altitude display consisting of 90 firework arrays. Both events are scheduled to light up the sky from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM on the night of September 2nd.

To ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has coordinated with various agencies, including the City Command, Department of Transport, and City Police. These preparations include heightened security measures for the transportation and handling of fireworks, as well as during the events.

Special traffic management plans will be in place around the launch sites to control both land and river traffic. A safety perimeter of 1,000 meters will be enforced around the launch sites, during which vehicles will not be allowed to stop or park.

The 2024 National Day holiday will extend over four days, from August 31st to September 3rd, allowing city residents and visitors ample opportunity to participate in the festivities and enjoy the extended weekend. This period is expected to not only celebrate the nation's history but also boost local tourism and community spirit.
