VietNamNet Bridge – The New Year’s Eve in HCM City on December 31 will be brilliant thanks to a special light show, fireworks and an international food festival.
HCM City authorities have passed the “New Year’s Eve Moment 2012” program, which will take place from 9pm of December 31, 2011, to 0.30am of January 1, 2012, to welcome the New Year.

The emphasis of this program will be the light show at Sunwah and Palace buildings and an outdoor art show on Nguyen Hue road, District 1.

Fireworks will be let off for ten minutes in front of the Thu Thiem tunnel in District 2, which has opened for traffic this month, and the Dam Sen Culture Park in District 11.

The city will also organize the annual “HCM City Festival to Welcome New Year”, which will open at 8.30pm, December 26 2011 and close at 8.30pm of January 1, 2012 at the 23/9 Park in District 1.

At the same time, an international food festival will be held to introduce special cuisines of Vietnam and 24 other countries to Saigonees and visitors. The festival will have 150 stalls of 80 restaurants and hotels.

To serve these activities, vehicles will be banned in some roads from 6pm, December 31 2011, to 1am, January 1, 2012.
