Last year, Vietnam witnessed a total number of 7,718 workplace accidents, which injured 7,923 people and killed 754. In 2021, the country saw 6,504 workplace accidents, leaving 6,658 people injured and 722 dead.

Vietnam faced a total loss of VND14.11 trillion (USD595.74 million) in 2022 due to workplace accidents in 2022.

Last year, HCM City had 803 workplace accidents, behind the southern province of Dong Nai with 1,655 incidents. However, HCM City ranked first for deaths brought about by workplace accidents with 86, followed by Hanoi with 42 and Binh Duong with 41.

Twenty serious workplace accidents were prosecuted in 2022, including seven cases in HCM City.
