The team won a total of 36 golds, 27 silvers and 13 bronzes after five days of competition to top the medal tally.
The National Defence Sports Centre 5 came second with 26 golds, 20 silvers and 12 bronzes. While Long An were in third place with 17 golds, 18 silvers and 18 bronzes.
The capital team Ha Noi finished eighth out of 24 teams. They bagged only four golds, seven silvers and three bronzes.
During the last day of competition, Do Tran Hoang Loc of HCM City took the gold medal and broke the national record in the boys’ 11 and under’s 50m backstroke category after clocking a time of 32.64 seconds, beating the old record of 33.92 seconds set by Nguyen Quang Thuan in the same event last year.
HCM City’s Trinh Truong Vinh captured a silver medal with a time of 33.04 seconds. With this result, Vinh also set a new national record in this division.
The HCM City team also broke the national record in the mixed 18 and under 400m freestyle relay category with a new time of 3:48.67, defeating the old record of Long An of 3:50.89.
