VietNamNet Bridge – At around 8.30 this morning, October 11, a young man suddenly broke into the 10A kindergarten on Go Cam Dem road, Ward 10, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, to control two 3-year-old children. Hundreds of police surrounded the kindergarten to rescue kids.

Teachers were very panicked. They rushed to take kids into classrooms and locked the doors. The man pulled the two kids into a classroom as hostages.
According to VietNamNet’s reporters at the scene, hundreds of police officers surrounded the school, blocking all roads. Hundreds of people flocked to this place, including parents. Some tried to get into the school but they were stopped by the police.
At around 9.30 am, police officers took some kids out. At 10am, the police accessed to the classroom and controlled the man.
At 10.15 am, one of the two kid was taken out in a state of panic, with wounds on his neck and nose and a bloody foot. The kid was quickly brought to a hospital.

At 10.30am, the second child was returned to his relatives. The police escorted the young man to the police station.
To clarify the cause of the incident, the police continued blockaded the site until 11:30am. The school announced that all pupils were safe. At 12am, after the lunch, the school allowed parents to take their kids home.

Police said the kidnapper is Cao Quoc Huy, 28. He has not declared the reason of the kidnapping yet. However, according to some witnesses, Huy stole a motorbike and was detected. He ran into the kindergarten and threatened the hostages in order to seek escape.
