On September 15, police from Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, confirmed that they had summoned and fined V.P.Q.M., a 23-year-old resident of District 4, for the incident. M., who operates a hoverboard rental service on Nguyen Hue Walking Street, was penalized for overcharging IShowSpeed during his visit on September 14.

M. received a total fine of 10 million VND for two violations: "illegally using urban roadways and sidewalks for business purposes" and "selling goods without clear origins."

Additionally, the police confiscated the hoverboard used in the transaction and required M. to sign a written commitment not to engage in similar activities in the future.

Authorities also identified N.M.H., a 53-year-old resident of District 1, who was present during the overcharging incident.

H., an acquaintance of M., assisted with translation since M. was not fluent in English. After questioning, the police did not fine H. as he was not directly involved in the pricing issue.

Following the swift public reaction to the incident, which was broadcast live on IShowSpeed’s YouTube channel, M. and H. visited the hotel where IShowSpeed was staying to formally apologize and refund the 1 million VND.
