VietNamNet Bridge - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will launch its first direct air route from Ho Chi Minh City to Yangon, Myanmar on November 11.

Vietnam Airlines will provide passengers three fights a week using Airbus A320 planes departing from Ho Chi Minh City at 3:45 pm and from Yangon at 6:35 pm every Monday, Friday and Sunday,.

This is the second direct air route linking Vietnam and Yangon launched by Vietnam Airlines. Earlier, the carrier opened a direct route from Hanoi to Yangon in March, with four flights a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

On the occasion, Vietnam Airlines offered discount fare of VND 1,950,000 (around US$100) not including duty and other charges for a return ticket from Vietnam to Yangon issued between November 1 to December 25 for travelling from November 11 to December 25.
