HCM City's Chairman Le Hoang Quan.

VietNamNet Bridge – Le Hoang Quan was re-elected as chairman of HCM City People’s Committee for the 2011-2016 tenure on June 21, with 89 votes in favor (93.68%).
Born in 1953 in Di An District, Binh Duong Province, Mr. Quan holds a bachelor’s of law and politics. He joined the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in 1978. He was Chairman and Party Secretary of Dong Nai Province and Vice Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee before becoming Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee. Mr. Quan is also a member of the Party Central Committee of the IX, X and XI.

Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, 53, head of the city’s ideology department, was elected chairwoman of the People’s Council with 95.79% in favor, replacing Pham Phuong Thao.

Truong Thi Anh was elected as Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Council and Nguyen Thanh Chin was elected as the permanent member of the People’s Council.
