VietNamNet Bridge - With an automatic sprinkler combined with a new light system, HCM City’s first pedestrian street promises to be a new tourist attraction.

Hundreds of workers are working day and night to complete the square and pedestrian street of Nguyen Hue (District 1) before the celebrations of the 40th liberation anniversary of HCM City on April 30.

Nguyen Hue Square-pedestrian street is 670m in length, and 64m wide, with a total construction cost of nearly VND430 billion ($20 million).

Nguyen Hue Street will connect with the dining area of Ben Thanh market and the shopping area on Dong Khoi Street, as well as commercial centers nearby.

At the end of the street is the Saigon Riverside Park (Bach Dang Wharf).

With an automatic sprinkler system combined with an artistic light network, the pedestrian road is expected to attract visitors.
