Organised by the HCM City Women’s Union, in co-operation with its partners, the event is part of the association’s activities to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.

The beauty and grace of Ao Dai, a symbol of feminine beauty in Vietnam, is promoted through visual art at Anh Dep Ao Dai (Beautiful Images of Vietnamese Traditional Dress), a photo contest launched by the HCM City Women’s Union, which celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8.

It aims to highlight women and the beauty and grace of Ao Dai, which has become the symbol of feminine beauty in Vietnam, and traditional culture and lifestyle values through the visual arts.

Images of women in Ao Dai on the streets of the city, historic buildings and tourist sites are encouraged.

The contest’s organisers hope to encourage women, particularly youth, to live more independently and develop their talent.

The participants can take a photo of individuals or of a group. Submissions should be original works and should not have been submitted in previous competitions or exhibited publicly. The works should be in black-and-white or colour, without editing.

Entries may be submitted as a single photograph including captions.

Organisers said high priority would be given to entries focusing on creative and unique views and presentations.

Entries should be sent before March 10 to the organising board’s email anhdeponline.pntp@gmail.com.

The awards ceremony will be organised on March 18. The best photos will be exhibited at the city’s Women Cultural House .
