VietNamNet Bridge – Yesterday morning, September 9, an American man was struck and killed by a truck on the spot when he was riding at the bend from Huynh Tan Phat Road to the Ben Nghe port in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Being informed, the wife ran to the scene, crying bitterly.

At 10 am, Mr. Wayne Madison, 55 years old, U.S. citizen, was cycling on Huynh Tan Phat Street. At the Luu Trong Lu intersection, the man collided with the 15-ton truck driven by Vo Thanh Tam, 23 years old, which was running to the Ben Nghe port.

The collision made the foreign man fall to the ground and was run over by the truck. The man died on the spot. His bike was also deformed, only the bag tied behind was intact.

Being informed of the accident, the American man’s wife, a Vietnamese, was present at the scene shortly thereafter and began to cry bitterly. She said her husband is an English teacher at a school in District 7. This morning, he was on his way to the school.
