Business legacy of Johnathan Hanh Nguyen

Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, 74, holds an MBA from Seattle University in the United States. Before returning to Vietnam, he worked as a financial inspector for Boeing Subcontractor and spent several years living and working in the Philippines.

In the early 1990s, while serving as Chief Representative of Philippine Airlines in Vietnam, he facilitated the entry of DFS Group - a member of LVMH (France) and a global leader in luxury retail - into the Vietnamese market. It marked the beginning of international luxury brands doing business in the country.

Widely regarded as a pioneer in Vietnam’s retail and service sectors, Hanh Nguyen has built a business empire with a philosophy of long-term commitment and national contribution.

Social and economic contributions

In 2021, he was awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal by the President of Vietnam for his outstanding efforts in supporting Ho Chi Minh City's fight against COVID-19. The recognition underscored both his business success and his philanthropic involvement.

His nomination for the Labor Hero title reflects not only his business achievements but also his role in enhancing Vietnam’s image globally and supporting social welfare initiatives over the years.
