With the theme “Vietnam Go Global”, IFD 2015 will feature cultural exchanges, education, music, sport and cuisine with the participation of Vietnamese who used to study abroad and foreign students in HCMC.

Foreign business associations, Vietnam-foreign friendship associations, foreign non-governmental organizations, diplomatic corps, and consulates will be attending as well.

Le Hung Quoc, chairman of the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO), said Vietnam has made remarkable achievements on the diplomatic and integration fronts this year.

Quoc said exchanges of many high-level visits between Vietnam and other countries have helped consolidate the position and the role of Vietnam in the region and the world. Vietnam’s participation in multiple free trade agreements, especially the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a clear indication of the nation’s faster and deeper integration in the world.

IFD 2015 therefore aims to create a useful venue for students and interested people to meet and for strengthening friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and other countries.

This event is also an opportunity for youths wishing to study abroad to browse for a variety of scholarships, especially those for poverty-stricken students who have achieved outstanding academic records and made contributions to community.

The free-entrance event is open to all. For more details, visit the website at www.ian.vn
