VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Health has asked the Department of Health of Thai Nguyen Province to urgently verify information about a local woman who is treating all kinds of diseases by treading on the naked bodies of patients.

The local media and social networks have recently posted photos of hundreds of half-nude people who were treated by Ms. Pham Thi Phu, a resident of Vinh Son commune, Song Cong district, Thai Nguyen province.

This woman claimed that she could cure all sorts of diseases, including cancer, mental illness, and other dangerous diseases.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hai, Vice Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Health Department, said the woman was asked to stop her operation.

It has been reported that Phu was previously a mental ill patient. In 2005 Phu registered for a massage service business. Although she was not a doctor and did not have medical practice permits, hundreds of people from many provinces flocked to Phu’s house for treatment.

The local health agency suspended her operations many times, but this was a tough case because patients came to see Phu voluntarily. This woman also did not sell medicine or collect treatment fees.

According to oncologists, Phu’s treatment method can help patients psychologically. However, it is dangerous that people may think their health can get better and do not go to hospital for treatment. If their situation gets worse, their disease could be in a late stage by the time they go to the doctor.
