The Vietnam Air Force-Air Defense Force on November 1 dispatched a helicopter to deliver emergency supplies to approximately 3,000 local residents of two communes in Quang Nam completely isolated by flashfloods and landslides.

Helicopter Mi171 controlled by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Commander of Regiment 930, has dropped 4 tonnes of supplies to Phuoc Loc and Phuoc Thanh – the two inaccessible communes in Quang Nam.
Each flight carries about 2 tonnes of emergency supplies, including food and other daily necessities to people in distress.
The helicopter takes off at Da Nang International Airport where emergency supplies have been stockpiled for delivery over the past few days.
The two inaccessible communes accommodate approximately 3,000 residents. Their self-supported supplies are running out.
Phuoc Loc commune is inaccessible as landslides have blocked roads connecting it with the plain.
Quang Nam authorities have asked for food, drinking water, medicine and other necessities to be supplied to people in the cut-off areas within 30 days.
Emergency supplies will be dropped on to the playground of a school in Phuoc Loc commune.
Rescue workers are busy dropping the daily supplies to the playground of the school.
About 4 tonnes of emergency supplies have been delivered to needy people in the two inaccessible communes during the day.
