VietNamNet Bridge – Kon Tum Prison, where 500 political prisoners were confined during the war of resistance against the French, has become a historical relic.

The prison is located on the bank of Dak Bla River in Kon Tum city, in the central highland province of Kon Tum.

The prison was built by the French in 1915-1917 to imprison common criminals. It became a prison for political prisoners since 1930.

Kon Tum Prison is known as the hell on earth, with brutal ways of torture. Many famous revolutionaries of Vietnam were confined in this prison. Hundreds of prisoners died here.
