The 2015 high school graduation and university entrance exams are divided into two groups.

The first group will be co-organised by qualified universities and colleges and the Department of Education and Training. The results of the exam will determine students’ admission to tertiary education at university, college or vocational training institutions.

The results of second group, which is organised by the Department of Education and Training, will determine students’ graduation from high school.

The examinees must register for the exams before April 30 at their high school or prescribed sites of Department of Education and Training.

The MoET plans to remove the regulation exempting the top quintile of students in each locality from taking the exam this year.

Students will be required to sit for tests in three compulsory subjects — maths, literature and a foreign language — and one optional subject — physics, chemistry, biology, history or geography.
Students will also be able to register for tests in more optional subjects to have more opportunity to successfully apply for admission to universities and colleges.

Each test will include basic questions to properly and comprehensively assess the students’ capabilities, and an advanced section to classify students. The graduation mark of each student will depend on the average marks on the four subjects and the average marks in the 12th grade.
