Eight officials from the city's construction department and three from the Ha Noi Park and Green Tree Company received penalties, ranging from warnings to demotion and even dismissal.

Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Nguyen The Thao and Deputy Chairman Nguyen Quoc Hung were deemed personally responsible for failing to manage the tree replacement operation, which led to numerous errors and raised concerns among the public about its implementation.

Numerous city bodies such as the construction and finance departments, the Ha Noi Park and Green Tree Company, and the department of information and communication also faced various levels of collective disciplinary action.

The report pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the project planning and implementation, financial activities and public relation endeavours related to the tree replacement operation.

The Ha Noi department of internal affairs and inspectorate has been charged with the task of overseeing the measures being taken by the above-mentioned authorities to tackle the consequences of the operation.
