Ho Chi Minh City decorated to prepare for Tet
To welcome in the Lunar New Year Ho Chi Minh City has been decorated with national flags, bulbs, flowers, and posters, giving roads around the city a touch of colour and bringing joy to local people as the festive season approaches.
With just a few days to go before the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, many streets and alleys in Ho Chi Minh City have been beautifully decorated.
These days, streets and alleys across the southern city have hung up national flags in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Posters can be seen hung everywhere, with some reading “Happy New Year 2024 – the Year of the Dragon”, “Happy New Spring”, or “Celebrating 94 Years of the Communist Party of Vietnam”.
The jubilant atmosphere of the nation’s largest festival is now prevailing in every corner of the city.
The Lunar New Year is the largest holiday of its kind in the nation. This year, State employees will have seven days off work.
Tet is indeed approaching, with many parts of the city decorated in order to welcome in a new year full of happiness.
A large-sized poster aimed at celebrating the 94th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam is erected on Vo Nguyen Giap street in Thu Duc City.
Small alleys are also decorated with various kinds of flowers.
A bus station is decorated to feature red lanterns in celebration of the Lunar New Year festival.
An alley on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street is covered with festive lanterns and yellow apricot flowers, signaling the arrival of spring.
