Although the firework displays, at three locations in the city, were scheduled for 9:00 pm on the evening of April 30, thousands of people were present at the locations from 8pm.

Pyrotechnic shows took place from 9-9:15pm at three locations: the Thu Thiem Tunnel in District 2, the Landmark 81 building in Binh Thanh district, and Dam Sen Park in District 11.

At exactly 21 o'clock, simultaneously at three firing points, the fireworks went soaring into the sky to the interest of the people. Thousands of phones were held up by people to record this moment as a souvenir.

This is a cultural and entertainment activity to serve people, organised by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 133rd anniversary of May Day (May 1).
