On July 1, the Investigation Police Agency under the Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that it had filed criminal charges, prosecuted the suspect and executed a detention order against Cao Minh, born in 2003, on allegations of disturbing public order.

The procedural decisions have been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy.

According to the initial investigation, on June 4, Cao Minh repeatedly drove a car while performing drifting maneuvers on public roads inside the Sala Urban Area in An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

During questioning, Minh admitted that he was driving the vehicle and said he carried out the dangerous stunt to demonstrate his driving skills.

Footage showing the car repeatedly revving its engine while intentionally causing the tires to lose traction and slide across the roadway was recorded, uploaded online and quickly spread across social media.

Investigators determined that Cao Minh's actions disrupted public security and order in the area, created a significant risk of traffic accidents, directly endangered the lives and safety of road users and bystanders, and generated widespread public criticism.
