On October 10, at land lot 5-2 in Functional Zone No. 5, An Khanh Ward (Ho Chi Minh City), the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, in collaboration with the Urban and Industrial Civil Construction Project Management Board, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Children’s Cultural Center.
At the event, Huynh Minh Hung, Deputy Director of the Urban and Industrial Civil Construction Project Management Board, stated that the center has a total investment of over VND 1.124 trillion (approximately USD 45.9 million), funded by the city’s budget.
The center will be located on a 40,000-square-meter plot and feature a modern, integrated design. It will include 10 floors (one basement and nine above ground), offering over 38,000 square meters of floor space. Completion is expected before 2028.
The building’s architecture incorporates diverse and advanced utility systems. It will house four multipurpose auditoriums and halls accommodating 300–600 people, six cinema rooms, and a gymnasium with more than 1,000 seats.
The upper floors will be dedicated to experiential learning spaces, including a movie theater zone, library, swimming pool, STEM-robotics-art studios, martial arts and chess rooms, music and recording rooms, and a literary exchange and astronomy experience area.
The outdoor area will also be fully equipped, featuring a central plaza and an amphitheater with a covered water stage seating 1,308 spectators. The entire facility will be operated by a centralized Building Management System (BMS) to optimize infrastructure and automation.
The Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Cultural Center is envisioned as a creative and ideal training space for millions of local children and a cherished symbol of childhood in the city named after President Ho Chi Minh.

He also affirmed the city’s vision of developing into a leading Southeast Asian metropolis, rich not only in economic strength but also in culture, arts, sports, and entertainment.
“Investing in the Children’s Cultural Center is the most sustainable investment in our future,” Cuong stressed.
“This project also contributes a distinctive architectural highlight and a clean, green, modern public space. It supports the development of Thu Thiem into a model urban area, fully aligned with the city’s vision of creating a livable, world-class city.”
