An international culinary festival “Taste of the World 2016” is slated for December 15-18 in Ho Chi Minh City, luring the participation of 17 countries and 45 food businesses in the city.

Themed “Multi-sense cuisine”, this year’s event will bring more interactions to visitors, said Nguyen Thị Anh Hoa, Deputy Head of the municipal Department of Tourism.

The event is expected to help participants gain insights into diverse culinary cultures of countries in the world, she added.

The festival offers a diversity of signature dishes from different countries such as India, Thailand, Turkey, France, Malaysia and Italia, among others, through on-site food making activities.

Other activities at the event include the introduction of traditional culinary villages and Vietnamese coffee, participating countries’ wine promotion, food art photographic exhibition. A mini festival of “five-star” chefs will take place during the event.

There will a common house showcasing specialties of 24 localities and honouring culinary artisans in Ho Chi Minh City.

Participants will also have a chance to meet Masterchef Vietnam 2013 Ngo Thanh Hoa, attend a Korean food teaching programme as well as compete in a cooking challenge.

The festival will be held at Le Van Tam Park, District 1.
