According to a newly released plan by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, the fireworks show will take place from 12:00 AM to 12:15 AM on January 1, 2026, marking the first minutes of the new year.
There will be three high-altitude fireworks sites: the area near the Saigon River Tunnel (An Khanh Ward), the city center of the new urban area (Binh Duong Ward), and Tam Thang Square (Vung Tau Ward).
One low-level firework show will be held at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi Ward).
All expenses for the firework displays will be covered through socialized funding sources.
In addition to the fireworks, the city is preparing a host of cultural and artistic events to enhance the festive spirit. The 2026 Countdown event will take place on the evening of December 31 at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, expanding to Le Loi Boulevard, Lam Son Park, and the area in front of the Municipal Theatre. This event, too, will be funded through private sponsorship.
An outdoor art performance to celebrate the New Year will be held at the park in front of the former Binh Duong Provincial Administration Center.
The “Awakening the Dawn 2025” program will feature a fun run and a synchronized yoga performance on the morning of December 31 at Tam Thang Tower Square (Vung Tau Ward), followed by an evening art show.
A Culinary Culture Festival will run from December 27, 2025, to January 1, 2026, at Bai Sau Beach (Vung Tau Ward), also supported by socialized funding.
To further enrich the festive ambiance, the city will install artistic lighting decorations along central streets and various neighborhoods.
New Year-themed art shows will also be held across different wards and districts including Dau Tieng, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, Go Vap, and Phu Thanh on the evening of December 31.
Youth Cultural House, along with universities, colleges, dormitories, and export processing and industrial zones, will organize their own performances over the two nights of December 31 and January 1.
