The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department has temporarily suspended a major who was caught on video using aggressive language and profanity toward a woman suspected of a traffic violation. The incident, widely shared on social media, is currently under investigation.

Authorities confirmed that the officer in question belongs to the Tan Tuc Traffic Police Team. Following the video's circulation online, the Traffic Police Department immediately requested a report from both the Tan Tuc unit and the officer involved.

To ensure transparency, officials have ordered the major to step aside from his duties while awaiting disciplinary action.

Incident details: Heated exchange caught on video

The viral video, shared on February 9, captures an encounter between the traffic officer and a young woman suspected of a traffic violation.

Instead of handling the situation professionally, the officer is heard using an aggressive tone and addressing her with disrespectful phrases such as:

"Are you deaf or what?"
"Do you understand Vietnamese?"
"Are you messing with me?"

He even used profanity during the exchange.

Meanwhile, the woman remained composed and responded:

"Let me ask my friend."
"I need to call a friend to borrow money..."

Investigation timeline and official response

Authorities confirmed that at 6:30 p.m. on February 7, a Tan Tuc Traffic Police Team was on duty near the Nguyen Van Linh overpass in Binh Chanh District.

The woman was stopped for driving into a restricted area on Le Kha Phieu Street, heading from Nguyen Huu Tri Street toward Long An Province.

During the stop, she began recording the interaction on her phone and requested time to call someone for assistance.

At this point, the major became visibly frustrated, leading to his inappropriate conduct and unprofessional remarks.

The incident is now under review, with officials stating that disciplinary measures will be taken following the conclusion of the investigation.
