This is one of the most important prizes of the festival apart from feature film awards such as Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Documentary Film and Best short film.

Dap Canh Giua Khong Trung was screened on November 11-12 and attracted the huge number of audiences and critics in Bratislava.

Director Hoang Diep did not attend the award ceremony on November 14 as she was taking part in the American Film Institute (AFI) Fest in Hollywood where her film will vie for the New Authors film feature for the first time.

In the festival’s official press release, the organizing board said the Best Director award was presented to Nguyen Hoang Diep for the sensual abilities this young director demonstrated while taking audiences through an odyssey of a young Vietnamese woman who battles through social hardships.

This is a good news for the young director prior to the making debut of her film in Vietnam on November 23-27.
