VietNamNet Bridge – Gifts of contestants of the 2012 Miss World pageant were auctioned for charity on August 14. Hoang My’s horn was sold for 100,000 yuan, around $15,000.
According to Hoang My, 12 gifts were selected for the auction, including her horn. This horn was made by chieftain K’Tham of the K’Ho ethnic minority group.
1 million yuan was raised at the auction, for poor children.
“This horn is a very special item from Vietnam. It is used as an alarm tool of K’Ho people while going hunting, as a musical instrument and is used to convene people. It was made by the chief of the K’Ho ethnic group. This is the symbol of power. The horn is only for special people,” Hoang My introduced about the horn, at the auction.
