VietNamNet Bridge – The swimmer from Da Nang was back at the national swimming championship which is underway in Ho Chi Minh City, and won 6 gold medals after four days of competition.

Since the failed training trip in the United States and being not selected for the Olympic Games, Hoang Quy Phuoc, who won two gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games 26, returned to the track of the national swimming championships in HCM City.
Da Nang swimmer still showed strength in the domestic arena to win in all six events that he participated in.
In the men's 100m butterfly event, Phuoc was the first who hit the finish line, with 54.97 seconds. On September 15, he won the gold medal for the men’s 50m free content with 24.05 seconds. This is the 6th gold medals of Quy Phuoc and of the Da Nang team.
Phuoc will compete at one more event in the national championship. After this tournament he will focus on a training course with Chinese experts before leaving to the Asian Championships at the end of September with other members of the national swimming team, including young athlete Nguyen Thi Anh Vien.
In addition to the dominance of Hoang Quy Phuoc, the national swimming champs witnessed two national records of Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen (the women’s 50m butterfly with 28.22 seconds, the women’s 100m free with 58.44 seconds), Tran Duy Khoi (the men’s 200m individual mixture with 2.6.23 minutes) and My Thao (the women’s 1500m with 17.31.73 minutes).
The record that was broken by My Thao has existed since 2006.
