Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) are two big archipelagos with key strategic locations among Vietnam’s islands, and the country’s sovereignty over them is clearly reflected through historical documents.

Vietnam has long been persistent and consistent in safeguarding its national sovereignty in the East Sea through peaceful measures on the basis of international law.

Ly Son island is a gorgeous geopark in the central province of Quang Ngai. The island is also home to the Hoang Sa Flotilla which protected Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes four centuries ago.

Ly Son island, Quang Ngai province, is not only known for the birthplace of Hoang Sa Flotilla, but also a famous geopark with breath-taking landscape and diverse fauna and flora.

The “Le khao le the linh Hoang Sa” (Feast and Commemoration Festival for Hoang Sa Soldiers) was organized in Ly Son district, the central province of Quang Ngai, on April 20.

Since long ago, Ly Son has preserved a historical story about the militia heroes of the Hoang Sa Flotilla in the Nguyen Dynasty who rowed boats to Hoang Sa, ready to plant sovereign landmarks and defend the islands of the motherland.
