According to the latest ranking of the ISSF, Hoang Xuan Vinh has 1,201 points, leaving other rivals far behind. Those just behind him are Jongoh Jin (South Korea, 981 points), Andrea Amore (Italy,796 points), and Chervyakoskiy Sergey (Russia, 743 points).

Vinh has also climbed to sixth place in the rankings for the men’s 50m slow shooting pistol with 534 points.

The ISSF’s rankings are made based on the achievements of shooters at the tournaments in the official competition system. Hoang Xuan Vinh, now a colonel in the army, achieved his current position thanks to his miraculous performance at the World Cup Fort Benning 2014 in the U.S. in April. He won a gold medal for the men’s 10m air pistol with 202.87 points and broke the world record.

Currently, Xuan Vinh is training very hard to prepare for the 17th Asian Games in South Korea in September and October 2014.
