This marks the sixth hoar frost observed on Mount Fansipan since the start of the 2023-2024 winter.
The authorities of Lao Cai have warned that the appearance of the frost poses health risks to people, crops, and animals. Local residents are advised to take measures against the weather phenomenon.
In the highlands of Lao Cai, this weather pattern often occurs during winter time, especially in December, January, and February.Source: VOV/TP
