Hoi An town will provide free access and various cultural activities to visitors on December 4, the day it was recognised as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Many events will be held to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23 and the 17th anniversary Hoi An was recognised as a world heritage site on December 4.

Some of the notable activities are Life in Hoi An Town Photo Exhibition by French photographer Réhahn. Photos that feature the town under golden sunlight or the daily life of the locals will be put on display for visitors.

The Inside, Outside Exhibition by painter Truong Bach Tuong, exhibition at Thanh Ha Ceramic Village and the marathon tournament are also expected to bring a lot of activity to the town.

Promotions for the anniversary will be carried out with several contests for children such as Protecting Heritage Sites, Discovering Museums or the traditional singing contests.

Over 200 managers of historical sites in town and surrounding areas and contributors will meet and work with the town's leaders.

This is also a chance to promote the historical and cultural values of the town with domestic and foreign tourists.
