Home appliance distributors have had a tough year 2021 because of Covid-19.

On December 18, Vingroup announced its withdrawal from the retail sector. Adayroi, the e-commerce website, will merge with inID, while VinPro, the home alliance distribution brand, will be dissolved.

Vietnam’s home appliances are seen by consumers as good as foreign made products, but they still cannot catch the eyes of Vietnamese consumers.

The decisions by Tran Anh Digital World JSC to sell its distribution chain and the moves by giant home appliance chains to open drugstores indicates the home appliance market is becoming saturated.
