According to initial investigation, the accused, 33-year-old Nguyen Van Hung, who reportedly lived in the area around a cemetery in Tien Hung Commune, took Le Do Tram Anh from her grandmother’s house to the cemetery on Sunday afternoon to visit her grandfather’s grave, as agreed to by her parents.

Hung is said to be an acquaintance of the family. However, the family failed to contact Hung when the girl did not return for a long time.

Three days after the family reported to the police about the missing child, police found Hung on Wednesday afternoon lying unconscious in the bordering area between Tien Hung and Tien Thanh communes allegedly for exhaustion.

Hung was taken to the hospital. As soon as he recovered, he admitted to the police that he had killed the child and threw her body into a well.

On Wednesday night, police found the body in a well at a rubber farm of a family in Tien Hung Commune.
