The collections from land use in the first four months of the year reached VND8.4 trillion, nearly twice as much as the same period last year.
A report on socio-economic development in HCM City shows relatively high growth rates in business fields. The total state budget collections were estimated at VND168.177 trillion, or 43.51 percent of estimates, an increase of 13.87 percent compared with the same period last year. Meanwhile, total turnover of exports going through the city’s border gates reached $13.9 billion, an increase of 3.6 percent.
The city’s economy is continuing to recover. In April, some business fields show signs of improvement. The IIP (Index of Industrial Production) is estimated to increase by 2 percent compared with March and 9.7 percent compared with the same period last year.
The total retail turnover of goods and services is estimated to increase by 3.2 percent and 6.2 percent, respectively.
As for the tourism sector, the estimated total revenue is VND8.761 trillion, an increase of 26.7 percent over the same period last year (VND6 trillion). The number of domestic travelers to HCM City is estimated at 1.97 million, increasing by 56.7 percent over the same period last year (1.26 million), while the number of foreign travelers is VND114.728, an increase of 100 percent.
Regarding the banking system, the total mobilized capital of the credit institutions in the city is estimated at VND3,229,500 billion, an increase of 0.7 percent over the previous month and 2.73 percent over the end of 2021.
The total outstanding loans of the banks in the city are estimated at VND3,041,500 billion, increasing by 1 percent and 7.32 percent, respectively.
Tran Hoang Ngan, Head of the HCM City Institute of Development and Research, said the increase in outstanding loans shows positive signs of production and business which are expanding and recovering after Covid-19.
Regarding land management in the first four months of the year, the report showed that the number of transactions in the real estate market soared dramatically.
As many as 172,000 dossiers for real estate trading have been handled, while revenue from land use has reached VND8.4 trillion, nearly double of the first four months of 2021. The collections mostly increased from land-use fees and land and water surface rents.
A representative of the HCM City Department of Natural Resources and the Environment said the municipal authorities are collecting documents from projects which have received conclusions from inspectors, auditors and agencies.
It is expected that in early May 2022, a Government delegation will come to HCM City to work with the city’s agencies to handle problems related to the projects, mostly real estate projects.
