The Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with local police forces, tracked down and apprehended three suspects at a remote campsite in Gia Lai province.

On the afternoon of March 24, the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security handed over three particularly dangerous suspects wanted for "property robbery" to the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Investigation Agency for further investigation and prosecution.
The suspects are identified as Dao Xuan Loc (34, from Dong Nai), Nguyen Tuan Anh (32, from Ninh Binh), and Nguyen Anh Duy (32, from Binh Dinh).
Earlier, Tay Ninh Provincial Police had prosecuted and arrested Pham Ly Phuong (34, from Tay Ninh) for "property robbery" and Le Nguyen Binh (37, residing in Go Vap District) for "harboring criminals."
Details of the $2.2 million robbery

Authorities have now clarified the $2.2 million robbery that took place in Thuan Loi Commune, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province.
Pham Ly Phuong learned that his parents had recently brought home $2 million. He informed the group, including Dao Xuan Loc, Nguyen Tuan Anh, and Nguyen Anh Duy, and plotted to stage a robbery.
Following Phuong’s tip-off, on March 10, the group broke into the house in Thuan Tay Hamlet, Loi Thuan Commune, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province. Posing as police officers, they confronted Phuong's mother, P.T.M.L, and demanded that she go to the police station to clarify the origin of the $2.2 million.
Believing them to be genuine officers, Mrs. L. complied and prepared to leave. During this time, the group seized the $2.2 million and fled.
Notably, after obtaining the money and escaping, the gang abandoned Phuong and cut off contact. Realizing he had been deceived, Phuong confessed to his family.
On March 11, Mrs. L. and Phuong reported the robbery to local authorities. Upon receiving the report, Tay Ninh Provincial Police, in collaboration with the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, launched an investigation.
Through professional measures, on March 15, the police arrested Le Nguyen Binh at a hotel in Hanoi, recovering nearly $1.96 million.
On March 20, Tay Ninh Provincial Police prosecuted and detained Pham Ly Phuong for "property robbery." The police also issued arrest warrants for Dao Xuan Loc, Nguyen Tuan Anh, and Nguyen Anh Duy after confirming that the suspects had fled the area, leading to a special nationwide manhunt.
Tracing the suspects

With the objective of capturing the three particularly dangerous criminals promptly and preventing further crimes or escape abroad, the Criminal Police Department and Tay Ninh Provincial Police urgently coordinated efforts.
The suspects, identified as having previous convictions and known for their bold and aggressive nature, were highly experienced in evading law enforcement.
Once the suspects' movements were detected, the Criminal Police Department cooperated with various units and provincial police forces from Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Thuan, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Quang Ninh, and Gia Lai, mobilizing hundreds of officers to take action.
According to surveillance, the suspects used multiple vehicles and moved northward to liquidate assets before reversing course toward the central region, intending to escape to Laos or Cambodia.
Therefore, police forces from numerous provinces, along with border guards, were mobilized to secure border routes and pathways to prevent cross-border escapes.
Realizing the difficulty of crossing the border by land, the suspects headed to the Central Highlands to hide and wait for an opportunity to move further away.
At noon on March 24, the Criminal Police Department, in collaboration with Gia Lai Provincial Police, raided a campsite in Nong Truong Hamlet, Ia Glai Commune, Chu Se District, Gia Lai Province, successfully capturing Loc, Anh, and Duy.
To date, the police have recovered the entire stolen amount and confiscated three cars used in the crime.
