The purpose of the occasion is to honour and introduce the nation’s beautiful landscapes, especially the ancient heritage of Hue, while simultaneously strengthening international exchanges through photography activities in a bid to promote Hue’s brand, thereby elevating local tourism in the domestic and international tourism map.

Participants will have the chance to snap photos and explore Hue’s heritage at sites such as Lap An lagoon, Van Mieu, King Minh Mang's mausoleum, King Tu Duc's mausoleum, and King Khai Dinh's mausoleum, Quang Loi lagoon, Thanh Toan tile bridge,Thanh Tien paper flower village, and Dong Ba market.

Furthermore, about 1000 entries will be judged by both domestic and international photographers at a photo contest taking place during the festival

The winning photos will be displayed and then be donated to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center with the aim of promoting Hue's cultural heritages.

A number of volunteer photography activities related to environmental protection, and donation of learning tools to poor children will be also held during the event.

Most notably, there will be an exhibition of the winning photos from the 12th International Art Photo Contest - 2023 in Vietnam, as well as a talk on the topic of "Future World Art Photo Trends" which will be held on September 11 in Hue.
